So it turns out, last week, it was announced that Yoast SEO was bought by an EIG holding company. I can't think of a single success case of any company bought by EIG that improved even a little bit. YoastGator and BlueYoast here we come. Alternatives (and no I don't really recommend AIOSEO ever since they were bought out either) that you might look at are RankMath is a really solid solution. Plus, within about about 4-6 weeks there should be a fairly substantial update to SEO Studio here at WPStudio.com

Thoughts from those of you who use Yoast. Are you still going to use the plugin under the new ownership? Are you looking for alternatives?

I've never been a big fan of Yoast. Have a client site that is using them right now. We'll see how it goes from here.

And I didn't know EIG got bought by Newfold Digital. I don't have an opinion on that right now.

Thought this was good: https://onlinemediamasters.com/yoast-seo-premium-review/ (over a year old). And: https://onlinemediamasters.com/rank-math-vs-yoast/ (newer).

I never cared much for Yoast.

So now EIG is Newfold Digital. I guess that EIG nameplate got so tarnished by poor performance and service that they needed a new corporate name to make things better. They have ruined HostGator and made BlueHost mediocre. Fortunately, I no longer have any clients using HostGator and only two still on BlueHost. One of the BlueHost sites has been down twice in the past 6 months due to server issues. The latest outage lasted almost 24 hours. Apparently there is no redundancy. They pay for cheap hosting and receive cheap hosting.

Bookmark ^^^ that page if you haven't. Good resource to keep up with EIG hosting companies. Also has info on the Yoast acquisition, etc.
