Hello Benjamin, please, PLEASE, come back !!!

The problems with Form Studio and Loop Studio on a customer site still persist.

    • My work-around for the Form Studio problem is: I have to make a copy of a form and edit the DATABASE to make it usable for a new application.
    • My work-around for the Loop Studio problem is: I have to manually set the post of a past event to DRAFT and set a redirect to the events overview page.
    • In addition, I cannot have more than 1 category of posts because I need a clean list of event invitations - without anything else in between.

This is not how I want to work on a customer site.

    Please help!
    Thank you!
    BG.

Cheryl, it seems like noone in the wpstudio community heard from him ever since his last public post in the webinar chat https://wpstudio.com/chat/
I tried to contact him in different ways but no answer (yet).

Hi Benjamin, the initial problem still exists, but the flickering while trying to scroll down to the page bottom stops as soon as there is enough text showing in the contents area.

And somehow my question (i.e. forum post) about FormStudio never showed on the forum. Do you think you can still find it?

    Thank you"

As a side note: It is not possible to scroll to the footer of that page, it seems that the page gets reloaded when you try to scroll beyond the contents area.

If it helps to have access to the site, please let me know.

Would it be possible to have a webinar about "Security Headers" (and what to do if you find out they are "missing")?

Reason for my request: Checking my own or customer websites on Website Vulnerability Scanner the "Website Security Score" is usually "F" (or at best "D"). Details e.g. read like this:

The following security headers are missing from the website:

    Strict Transport Security (HIGH SEVERITY)
A HSTS Policy informing the HTTP client how long to cache the HTTPS only policy and whether this applies to subdomains.

X Content Type Options (LOW SEVERITY)
The only defined value, "nosniff", prevents Internet Explorer from MIME-sniffing a response away from the declared content-type. This also applies to Google Chrome, when downloading extensions

    X Frame Options (MEDIUM SEVERITY)
Clickjacking protection: deny - no rendering within a frame, sameorigin - no rendering if origin mismatch, allow-from - allow from specified location, allowall - non-standard, allow from any location

    Content Security Policy (HIGH SEVERITY)
A computer security standard introduced to prevent cross-site scripting (XSS), clickjacking and other code injection attacks resulting from execution of malicious content in the trusted web page context

    X XSS Protection (LOW SEVERITY)
    A Cross-site scripting filter

(BTW: even google.com scores only "D" when I checked...)

I agree as well as I have not looked into several of them yet. It would definitely make sense to learn about them in order to make a more qualified decision about why or why not to use them.

@Benjamin, please allow another question concerning the same project:

The presently live TEAM page (Voce 1.9.9.7 - S-C-S) is responsive. The version which consists of the PODS items partially lost responsiveness:

Though the sidebars still move below the content area and even the texts move below the photos (instead of sitting next to them), the width of the texts are staying the same. The "bubbles" including the "bubble texts" still stay next to the photos and keep their width.

What did I miss? (Do you need to see the pages/URLs?)

Hi all, my name is Birgit Gerling. In chat rooms with international participants, you usually see me as "BG" (for at least 15 years) simply because I got tired of hearing my name mispronounced in so many different ways, without having a chance to correct it.

My professional background is translation, typesetting, and publication of books (and basically all sizes and types of printed matters), as well as video productions. For a few years, I worked as management assistant and somehow "stumbled" into webdesign since I knew about layout and coding for typesetting. Eventually, I started my own company, doing publication projects for my husband and for customers, producing Excel/VBA based tools for scientific/statistical purposes, but mainly building websites. (When I first discovered WordPress ten years ago, I edited plugins, themes, and even core files if I wanted to change things ... - and was of course learning quickly that updates can kill sites.)

The usual web projects I nowadays work on for customers are for presentation purposes or blogs and consist of five to a few hundred pages/posts. Some "adopted" sites use(d) different cms; I am hoping to drop the last "non-WordPress customer site" still this year. Presently, as I find time, I am busy working on a few projects for myself - and am trying to learn Italian.

@Benjamin, you are the best !!! Thank you !!! Easy fix, indeed. I had to add the wp-config.php line plus your last line. Then it worked.

(BTW, I did not mean to build a webinar but a staff page like in your webinar. 4 weeks away from a few days of vacation, obviously I do need a break!)

Maybe we can use a "preview" of a forum post before submitting.

    Case #1:
I would look for a suitable or similar JAVASCRIPT snippet and change it as needed. "Pre-WP" I had to do small things like this more often and pasted them directly into the HMTL pages. Nowadays, I may need help with that and would use Code Studio for implementing it.

    Case #2:
My "favorite" PLUGIN for popups - if absolutely needed - is Icegram. It offers a nice variety of options, I prefer "slide-in" instead of "popup".
On one site, I use Popup Maker. It integrates with forms and I set it to only show when you click a certain button or text-link.

    Case #3:
No experience with that yet, but I would check if it is included in the PAGEBUILDER OR look for a PLUGIN -- and warn the customer to only use abbreviated names because of privacy/GDPR/DSGVO reasons.

I don't use page builders much, because handling them somehow feels "slow and clumsy".

However, one "adopted" client site came with Divi (terrible), on personal sites, I recently experimented with Beaver Builder and Elementor (together with the ASTRA theme), and I had a brief look into "Oxygen". (It is not a secret that I dislike Gutenberg.)

Windows. (It was Linux several years ago, and if Windows 10 keeps upsetting me, I may go back to Linux.)
